It's being reported that former New York Knick GM and coach Isiah Thomas will be named head coach of Florida International University as early as today.  Other candidates include Ed Pinckney and Tim Hardaway, both former Miami Heat players.

It's an interesting choice for the Miami based school.  Thomas has a cloud of trouble around him that, at the very least, is questionable.  Thomas was convicted of sexual harrasment in 2007 and then alledgely attempted suicide last October.  Thomas has also never coached on the collegiate level.
