It started with a huge upset. Corey "Homicide" Williams didn't know what hit him. But all the fans of Al Callajas will tell you it was no upset. Al hit from outside and put the defending champ out from the free throw line when Corey went over the limit. LaQuan Castro came out strong and put away Brian Kortovich. Jack Ryan, the oldest participant, came out firing from outside but was unable to holdoff Nygel Roach. Speedy Williams put away Steven Mims to advance to the second round.
On the other side of the bracket, "Snoop" Toppin won against the play-in winner Idris Sherrad. Wilner Joseph advanced against Willie "Slick" Samuels. Neville Storer began his move by beating PJ Meija and Lee Church outlasted Robert Schroeder.
The Quarterfinals saw LaQuan Castro beat Al Callajas in a close game. Speedy Williams continued his tough play against Nygel Roach. Snoop Toppin grinded out a win against Wilmer Joseph. And Nevile Storer completed the Final Four by beating Lee Church.
The Semifinals saw two friends go for the 'chip. In the end Speedy Williams was too much for LaQuan Castro. Neville Storer wore out Snoop Toppin to advance to the final.
Snoop won third place by beating LaQuan Castro. In the final, Speedy continued his dominance of taking the ball to his opponents weakness and it showed as "speed kills" or in this case, was the Last Man Standing.

The brackets for the final showdown for the title of the Last Man Standing are set. On Saturday, August 18th the culmination of a summer long search will realize its champion. And it all happens at the World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden. May the best man be the Last Man . . . Standing.

Finalists representing each borough of the City and from New Jersey, Connecticutt, and as far away as Greensboro, North Carolina will pitch battle in the ultimate One-on-One contest, Last Man Standing. The Finals are to take place on Satruday, August 18th at 3:00 P.M. on the floor where Clyde, Pearl, and Willis brought Championships to New York, where the ultimate gladiator, Patrick Ewing, battled Michael Jordan for supremacy in the East, and where Stephon now directs the up-and-coming Knicks.
After satellite contests in Long Island, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Bridgeport, CT, and Harlem the survivors of each region moved on to Union NJ for the semi-finals. Its now onto the World's Most Famous Arena to see who is the best streetballer, the Last Man Standing. Listed below are the confirmed finalists that will vy for the $5,000, MSG personal workout, championship ring, and other prizes.

Last Man Standing is the ultimate contest to determine who is the best One-on-One baller in the New York metro area. And you know that if your the best in New York, you are the best in the world! Why else would the championships be held at the World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden! The winner will receive a personal workout session at the MSG Training Center, $5,000 cash, and other prizes. The tournament will be broadcast on the MSG Network later in August.
